ACT NOW: Stop the Rosebank oil field!

ACT NOW: Stop the Rosebank oil field!

The government has just approved the biggest undeveloped oil field in the UK.

Rosebank is controlled by the Norwegian state-owned oil giant Equinor. They keep the oil, and they decide where to sell it. So as well as blowing past UK climate targets, most of the oil will be exported to other countries - doing nothing for British energy security.

Yet we’re still giving them £3.75 billion in tax breaks to develop Rosebank, even though the government has admitted multiple times that it will do nothing to bring down our energy bills.

Burning Rosebank’s oil and gas would produce more CO2 than all of the 28 lowest-income countries do in a year.

Overall, Rosebank is a bad deal for Britain and the climate.

The government just gave the green light to the UK’s biggest oil field. The final decision to develop Rosebank now lies with oil giant Equinor and the Norwegian government. Add your name to stop Rosebank now!
